Four NFL teams are below 50% vaccinated less than two weeks after training camp started, a person familiar with vaccination rates told The Associated Press.

Washington, Indianapolis, Arizona and the Los Angeles Chargers had the four lowest COVID-19 vaccination rates in the league on Thursday, according to the person speaking on condition of anonymity as the league did not release the numbers.

Pittsburgh, Miami, Carolina, and Denver have the highest vaccination rates and are among the 10 teams to achieve at least 85%. About 73% of the players are vaccinated. Teams at the bottom of the vaccination table have a potential competitive disadvantage.

The NFL has no plans to cancel any games this season, the person said.

In a memo sent to the clubs last week and received by the AP on Thursday, the NFL, working with the NFLPA, updated the logs to allow teams traveling to group practices to have their daily maximum of Tier 1 and Tier 1 2 people can have. The tour group is either 100 or 140, depending on the club’s vaccination percentage. The club must limit the number of people traveling on team transport to 85, but additional Tier 1 and Tier 2 personnel may travel separately up to the applicable daily tier limits to attend training.

In addition, at the beginning of the training camp, teams must develop a method to visually identify fully vaccinated Tier 1 and Tier 2 individuals.

The use of color-coded wristbands or badges is recommended, but clubs can implement other methods.

Last month, the NFL and the players union updated protocols to ease restrictions on fully vaccinated players and encourage others to get the vaccine.

Unvaccinated players must continue to be tested daily, wear masks and practice physical distance. You are not allowed to have meals with teammates, are not allowed to participate in media or marketing activities while traveling, are not allowed to use the sauna or steam bath and are not allowed to leave the team hotel or interact with people outside the team, interact while on the go. Vaccinated players do not have any of these restrictions.
