Steve Sarkisian left college football five years ago after losing a dream job to his alcoholism problems.

Now Sarkisian is head coach again, ending up in Texas after helping Alabama win a national championship as an offensive coordinator.

On the latest AP Top 25 College Football Podcast, Coach Sark talks to the AP’s Ralph Russo about his journey from being fired through Southern California to serving in the NFL to become the newest coach to bring the Longhorns back to the college football elite.

College football writer Richard Johnson, of the Split Zone Duo podcast, is also on the show to find out what makes Sarkisian’s offense so effective and to talk about how the best college teams try to include NFL teams in their schedule to emulate.

In addition, Urban Meyer’s first misstep as NFL coach and Gus Malzahn landed at UCF.
