• Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program: June 14 – August. 8. Open to all ages. Register at bigrapidslibrary.beanstack.com.

• Meet Mr. Howard at 10am on Fridays for a personal storytime at the Hemlock Park Bandshell. Please note the current state distance and mask requirements.

• Take & Make Kits are available while stocks last. Stop at the library desk on the first floor and ask a member of staff for one. 426 S. Michigan Avenue, Big Rapids.

• AZ Kit Club: The BRCL has a new literacy program for children aged 3 to 5. Participants are given weekly bags that highlight one letter of the alphabet and talk is teaching activities. Register by emailing Sarah at [email protected].

• Knit Night: 6:30 pm every first Thursday of the month on Zoom. Knit Night offers conversations, among other things, to talk about which projects are being worked on. Register by contacting Sarah at [email protected].

Urban area of ​​ReedDistrict Library

Unvaccinated people must wear a mask when entering. Wi-Fi can be accessed from the parking lot and roadside services are still available.

• Story Hour: 11.30am on the second and fourth Wednesdays outside the library, weather permitting.

• Perler Bead Crafting: Two sessions (1:14:30 pm and 3:15:30 pm Tuesday, July 27th) Suitable for children aged 6 and over. Registration required on reedcitylibrary.org.

Fired Ink Art: 6-8pm Tuesday July 27th. For adults only. Please bring 1-2 panes of glass picture frames of your choice. Register at reedcitylibrary.org.

Morton Township Library

Summer opening times: Tuesday-Friday 10 am-5pm and Saturday 10 am-1pm.

• “Bottled Goodbyes” by Ric Mixter: Tuesday, July 20th, 7pm, via Zoom. Author and shipwreck researcher Ric Mixter will speak about his new book Bottled Goodbyes, which will record the most famous messages ever found, including three bottles found after the Titanic disaster. A zoom link will be posted on morton.michlibrary.org prior to the virtual event.

• Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program: Virtual events (Wednesdays and Thursdays) and a 30-day reading challenge for students from elementary school through 12th grade. Further information and registration at facebook.com/MortonTownshipLibrary or morton.michlibrary.org/summer-reading-program.

• Online Preschool Storytime: Videos are posted on morton.michlibrary.org on Tuesdays. Packages can be picked up in the library.

• Crafty Wednesdays for Kids: The kits can be picked up from the roadside on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Call 231-972-8315 and the staff will bring you the packages.

Walton Erickson Public Library
