Billy Gilmour: Scotland midfielder tests positive for Covid-19 | Football news

Billy Gilmour will isolate for 10 days after a positive coronavirus test and miss Scotland’s crucial European Championship game against Croatia on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old made his full international debut against England on Friday and put in an outstanding performance in Scotland’s goalless draw at Wembley.

But he will be absent in the crucial game against Croatia against Hampden Park as Scotland seeks to qualify for the knockout stage of a tournament for the first time.

A statement said: “The Scottish Football Association can confirm that a member of the Scottish national team, Billy Gilmour, tested positive for Covid-19.

“Having worked with Public Health England since the positive test was recorded, Billy will now self-isolate for 10 days and will therefore miss tomorrow’s UEFA EURO 2020 Group D game against Croatia in Hampden.”
