Daytime Emmys sets nominations for children, animation and lifestyle categories – deadline


Days after receiving the Daytime Emmy Awards, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations in the Children’s, Toon and Lifestyle categories. Read the list here.

Netflix, which led all networks and platforms on Friday with nine Daytime Emmy victories, has four of the five nominees for the Outstanding Young Adult Series. Three-time winner Julie and the Phantoms competes against streamers Alexa & Katie, Dash & Lily and Trinkets as well as Hulus The Hardy Boys. But Netflix was banned from another marquee category, the Outstanding Daytime Fiction Program, whose nominations are The Girl in Apartment 15 and Rekindling Christmas from Amazon Prime, Doomsday from Vimeo, Finding Love in Quarantine from Pure Flix Digital, and Take My Heart from YouTube.

PBS has four of the seven nominations for Outstanding Culinary Series with Linda’s Kitchen, Lucky Chow, Pati’s Mexican Table, and TasteMakers. Food Network received two nominations for Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like a Pro and Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, while Eater received the other nomination for Mise en Place.

The nominees for the Outstanding Lifestyle Series are George to the Rescue and Open House (both NBC), Home Made Simple with Laila Ali (OWN), Legacy List with Matt Paxton (PBS), Skin Decision: Before and After (Netflix) and Small Business Revolution (Hulu).

The winners of the 48th Daytime Emmy Awards in the categories Children & Animation and Lifestyle will be celebrated in two live streaming events on Saturday and Sunday, July 17th to 18th. The children’s programming and animation ceremony will be a standalone show that will be streamed on the Emmy OTT platform on July 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
