It’s National Nutrition Month, and if you’ve been considering moving on to a healthier lifestyle, now is a good time to take the plunge. Fortunately, Live In The D’s nutrition and fitness expert Jody Trierweiler is here to help you figure out where to start.
Trierweiler said the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends breaking March up into weekly goals in order to stick to a healthy diet.
Try to include all food groups at every meal. Get creative! Add some vegetables with a morning omelet to round off breakfast.
Have everyone at home make a list of their five favorite healthy foods and use them to make your shopping list. Once you have everything, you can use it as a building block in your meal preparation.
Get something new from the store and read the recipes online for how to use them! This is an opportunity to try new flavors and find out what you like. With all of the unique recipes available online, there are tons of new dishes to try.
