NEW YORK (AP) – San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey was removed from the game Tuesday night with a discomfort in his left knee.

Posey was visited by manager Gabe Kapler and a trainer during the fourth inning against the New York Mets. Posey was replaced an inning later by backup Curt Casali, with San Francisco in the lead 7–0.

Kapler said after the game that Posey was every day.

The 34-year-old Posey has seen a new season for the leading Giants of the Major League. The 2012 NL MVP single and scored in the top of the fourth inning to increase his batting average to 0.314 with 39 RBIs and a 0.925 OPS.
