Local Girl Scouts show off pet items they created for a Humane Society fundraiser in 2018. Girl Scout Unit 614 is hosting a potluck picnic event in Trap Pond State Park on September 26th and inviting prospective new members and Boy Scout leaders to attend.

Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts, Service Unit 614, invite girls and women to join them for a fun afternoon at Trap Pond State Park for a fun outdoor picnic on Sunday, September 26th, from noon to 5pm . Games, scavenger hunts and rope runner derby.

“We are looking for new Girl Scouts as well as new leaders to join us to lead our next generation of girls,” said representatives, encouraging those looking for a fun and educational activity with a daughter, niece, granddaughter or young friends and those who are everyone Have a few free hours every month to share their passion for nature, STEM, STEAM, craft or entrepreneurial skills with young girls as troop leaders.

“Girl Scouts are daredevils, innovators, risk takers and leaders, and we are looking for more members to join us for fun, skill building and adventure!” Representatives said.

The Potluck Picnic features grilled chicken donated by Mountaire Farms, games and prizes, and a scavenger hunt, and participants can watch the current Girl Scouts compete in their first rope runner derby. At the end of the afternoon, girls and executives take part in the Service Unit Award Ceremony, where exceptional troop leaders and high-performing girl guides are honored.

“Come out and see the variety of our scouts and their troops. Each troop is different based on the leader and the girls’ interests and skills. We have troops who go on adventures, troops who love to give back to their communities, troops who enjoy crafts and songs, and troops who do everything.
