In early June, it was announced that the Jayhawks would be joining the event with Alabama, Belmont, Dayton, Drake, Iona, Miami, and North Texas. However, the matchups were not set at the time the non-conference schedule was published.

With a win over North Texas, the Jayhawks would face the Dayton and Miami winner, and with a win in the semifinals they could schedule a possible top 25 meeting between Kansas and Alabama.

The opening game of the tournament will be the fourth game of the season for the Jayhawks after playing against Michigan State and Tarleton State and Stony Brook at Allen Fieldhouse in the Champions Classic.

The event, officially known as the Orlando Invitational, will take place November 25-28 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
