Labor Day events planned in western New York

BUFFALO, NY – Several events will be held on Monday to celebrate Labor Day.

After a year of absence due to the COVID pandemic, the Buffalo Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO will hold its annual Labor Day parade and picnic in South Buffalo.

The parade route begins on McKinley Parkway and Dorrance Avenue and ends at Cazenovia Park. A section of McKinley Parkway will be closed to traffic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There is also an event in the village of Cassadaga where the first Labor Day post-COVID parade begins at 11am. This year there is a theme: work of love. Several local music corps, athletes, first responders, vintage cars and tractors will take part in the parade.

Over at the Clarence Center, the Labor Day parade is going to have some special highlights, including a Disney princess and Spider-Man. It starts at noon on Goodrich Road.
