Lifestyle blogger Caitlyn Scaggs encourages parents and students to make this the best school year ever

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Radford-based mom blogger and lifestyle encourager Caitlyn Scaggs stops by the WDBJ7 Mornin ‘Show to talk about tackling the challenges of last year and making this the best year ever.

During the pandemic, Scaggs joined the thousands of parents who needed to take a more hands-on approach to their children’s education. With a third grader and a first grader who both have completely different learning styles, Scaggs found out what works and what doesn’t for each of her children.

“We definitely try to focus on the positive. So what are you looking forward to? And I hear a lot about meeting friends, meeting new teachers, we’ve heard the teachers are great so we’re really trying to emphasize that, ”Scaggs said. “And then I like to remind them that they have done difficult things before. So if this is difficult we will look back and see all the things that you did well in the past, and we will remember that you can do difficult things again this school year. “
