WILLIAMSBURG – Page Aleshire Boye, 101, passed away peacefully on Monday April 19, 2021.

She was born on March 14, 1920 in Fort Riley, Kansas, to Col. Joseph and Eleanor Aleshire. Born into a military family, she was used to being transferred to army posts in her early years. She met her husband, Freddie, a West Point graduate, at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. They were married on October 19, 1940. A few months later, in the early years of World War II, he traveled to England to prepare for six beach landings in Africa and Italy. She stayed with her two sisters in Evanston, Illinois.

During Freddie’s more than 30 years of military service in 14 different locations, including Germany; Saigon, Vietnam; and Ankara, Turkey, Page easily customizable, made friends, played golf, tennis, bridge and volunteered. Freddie retired from the Army in 1971 to a house they built on a golf course in Beaufort, South Carolina. The slow pace of the south was a great relief to active military life, and she took advantage of teaching students and playing golf and tennis. They stayed in Beaufort for 25 years. In 1997, Page and Freddie moved to Williamsburg Landing in Williamsburg. They highly valued the lifestyle there with planned transitions from house to apartment, to assisted living and finally to nursing.

Page is survived by their two sons Frederic W. Boye III and his wife Leslie from Williamsburg and Brooks A. Boye and his wife Martha from Boerne, Texas. Grandchildren, Brian Boye, Allison Boye, William Boye, Dabney Keith, Kathleen McCready, and America Hottle and their spouses: and nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Williamsburg Landing medical and nursing staff.

The funeral will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bruton Parish Church Foundation, PO Box 3520, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
