New Delhi [India], February 25 (ANI): Indian skeet shooters stood in line for medals at team events at the end of the day of the first World Cup shotgun stage of the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) in Cairo, Egypt.

On Wednesday, the men’s and women’s three-man teams finished the first three qualifying rounds in medal winning positions. There were two more qualifying rounds before the final.

The holders of the Olympic odds in Tokyo, Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, scored 70 and 67 points respectively and finished 21st and 28th in the individual competition. Gurjoat Khangura, the third Indian in the fight, took off in 19th place Mairaj through.

Her combined performance of 207 put her in fourth place for the moment in the men’s team event.

The women’s team did one better than the men and finished the first day in third place behind Russia and Kazakhstan. Karttiki Singh Shaktawat, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Ganemat Shekhon together scored 188 points.

In the Women’s Skeet individual competition, Karttiki took 27th place with 64 of 75 points. Parinaaz and Ganemat took 28th and 29th place respectively with 62 points.
