The Pawnee County Fair events will continue on Friday, Saturday


LARNED – The Pawnee County Fair is in full swing on Wednesday and continues in Larned today and Saturday.

Early events included last week’s fashion revue and the trap shoot; Monday Cat and Pet Show, Pawnee County Community Dog Show, and the 4-Hour Dog Show; and the assessment of several exhibits on Tuesday.

Events on Wednesday included the horse show and exhibition evaluation.

There were several livestock exhibitions on Thursday. State Representatives Brett Fairchild (R-St. John) from the 113th District and Tatum Lee Hahn (R-Ness City) from the 117th District met with the trade fair visitors for a Legislative Coffee; Team roping and more.

Here are some of the events planned for the next two days.


8 a.m. 4-hour & open beef shows

– 2:00 p.m. livestock evaluation competition

– 4:00 p.m. frog and turtle race

– 6 p.m. pedal tractor pull (registration at 5); Watermelon feed

– 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Community carnival

– 7 p.m. Ranch Rodeo, voluntary donation; Beer garden opens


– 7 a.m. 2 mile and 5 km run (registration 6-6: 30), Larned Community Center

– 9:00 a.m. 4-H Bicycle Rodeo & Open Class Bike & Trike Rodeo (registration at 8:30 a.m.)

– 10:00 am Round Robin Showmanship

– 11 a.m. team fitting competition

– 1:00 p.m. Alumni cattle competition

– 4:30 p.m. 4-H & Special Awards presentation

– 5:30 p.m. Glenn Mull Family Memorial 4-H Cattle Sale

– 6:30 p.m. Corn Hole Tournament (east of the barn, registration 5:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

– 6:30 p.m. Cattle buyers dinner

– 7 p.m. Family Fun Night (voluntary donation)

– 7 p.m. beer garden opens
