Free Narcan will be in Apollo. distributed

A free Community Narcan distribution will take place on Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at 310 Clifford Ave., Apollo.

Instructions for the administration of Narcan and addictive and recreational drugs are given. Drive-thru and walk-up distribution will be available.

The event is sponsored by the Armstrong Indiana Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission.

Memorial tree planned in Tarentum Park

The Tarentum Recreation Board is sponsoring a memorial tree that will be erected on the side of the Snack Shack facing the street in Riverview Memorial Park.

Tree leaves and rocks are engraved with the memory of loved ones and the tree is wrapped for safety.

1 ¾ by 3 1/2 in. Metal sheets are available for $ 40 and contain three lines of 23 characters and spaces. Rocks are 3 x 5 ¼ inches and cost $ 125. They also contain three lines of 23 characters and spaces. The availability of stones will be limited.

Knead Community Café welcomes donations

Knead Community Cafe, New Kensington, accepts donations to help run the daily operations of 1011 Barnes St.

The items on the café’s wish list include high-quality white Vanity Fair 2-ply napkins, Clorox towels, large-format steam pans made of aluminum foil, Mini Moo’s cream cups, dry cream canisters, vinyl food service gloves in sizes large and extra large, cupcake liners and Tide or Gain powder washing powder. Donations are accepted during business hours Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday: The First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg organizes a 13-week GriefShare self-help group Monday through September 6th from 6pm to 8pm in the church sanctuary, Mainstr. 358. The group is aimed at everyone who has lost an important person in their life and needs help in coping with grief. The mask requirement when entering the building and the distance rules are observed.
