Tottenham transfer news: Spurs approaches goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on loan from Atalanta | Football news

Tottenham are on the verge of signing a loan deal with Atalanta for goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

The football manager of Spurs, Fabio Paratici, held detailed discussions with the Serie A club on Monday and also asked about his central defender Cristian Romero.

However, a deal for Argentine Romero, which Sky Sports News reported earlier this summer, is one of Manchester United’s goals – but is said to be difficult to achieve.

The promising 23-year-old has a whopping valuation of more than £ 34million – one source says it is up to £ 39million (€ 45million) – and the interest of other big clubs across Europe, although United is currently pursuing a deal for Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane.

Tottenham have also inquired about Atalanta center-back Cristian Romero, but the Argentine is wanted by other big clubs

Gollini – once a youth player for United – and Romero are among a number of players who may be available at the right price from Atalanta this summer due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the club.

According to Sky in Italy, Spurs are about to arrange a loan for Gollini that includes a £ 13 million purchase option that they will have to accept if he plays a certain number of games.

Spurs have been looking for a new goalkeeper to compete with Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart after Paulo Gazzaniga left the club on Jan.

The club are still in talks with Bologna over a deal for Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.
