CHAPEL HILL – The NCHSAA announced Friday that the Randolph County School System has agreed to host the 2021 basketball championship games at Providence Grove and Wheatmore high schools. The decision was made to pursue high school venues as COVID-19 was unavailable due to the lack of availability at college facilities.

This is the first time since moving to Greensboro Coliseum (boys) and Elon College (girls) in 1981 that the high school facilities host championship events.

Spectator participation in the Games will be limited, according to the state, and the schedule, including classifications, which will be assigned to which location, will be determined and announced at a later date.
