The Father’s Day Parade, the final day of the Fish Festival, entertained and captivated the community despite the June 20th heat in Vermilion.

The parade, which runs along Liberty Avenue and parts of Ohio Street, was led by the Vermilion Fire Department, followed by Mayor Jim Fortfer and members of local businesses, organizations and communities.

Among them were the 2021 Miss Vermilion Diana Sewall, the rest of the festival’s royal family who were crowned at the beginning of the weekend, and the festival’s royal family around Ohio.

Several batons and drum corps, including The Futuristic’s Baton and Drum Corps and The Deputies, march through the streets in brightly colored clothes to the beat of the drums, while girls are clad in glittering batons. It was decorated.

Following the parade, the community was invited to Victory Park to attend the closing festival of a three-day luxury event, including a vermilion sea battle of firefighters and a live performance by Leonard in France.
