Summer rate in the synagogue

The Balagàn Cafè brings together conversation, music and aromas in the garden of the synagogue in Via Farini 6. Every Thursday, events fill the space for the ninth edition of the cultural summer series. The program includes guided tours through the synagogue and the Jewish Museum, which are possible from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. by appointment on 055290383 at a price of 10 euros. This Thursday, the author Vittorio Robiati Bendaud will discuss with the President of the Jewish Community of Florence, Enrico Fink, followed by a concert with Davide Casali and the New Original Klezmer Ensemble, accompanied by an aperitivo from the Balagan Bistrot Cafè. The second half of the sixth edition of the La Scena Muta Association’s folk festival moves to the Acciaiolo Park. Special guests include Morgan, Bobby Solo and comedian Michela Giraud. With music and more, the program also features independent bookstores, music workshops, and craft and food markets. All concerts are preceded by DJ sets and performances by young musicians from the Pippolo Music School. Maps are available here.

Our favorite food has its own festival

Fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce and the greenest basil are skilfully put together by the chefs at Pizza Ti do una from Santa Croce. From traditional to contemporary, you can even find creations like hemp, black rice and spirulina algae. Concerts and lectures merge with the kitchen to create an unforgettable festival, where gastronomy meets art in the breathtaking surroundings of the Limonaia of Villa Strozzi. Reservations are recommended but not required.

FILM / NICE Russian Cinema Nights

29.-31. July at 9.30 p.m.

With the latest film from director Stanislav Govoruchin

The free-entry movie nights fill the Florentine Summer Cinema Arena with a series of screenings dedicated to the best of contemporary Russian cinema. The films have been selected for the Apriti Cinema program, which takes place in the spectacular setting of the Piazzale degli Uffizi. The films will be shown in the original language with Italian subtitles, including “The End of the Beautiful Era”, the latest film by Stanislav Govoruchin, “On the Moon” by Andrei Konchalovsky and “The End of the Season” by Konstantin Khudyakov.
